Until recently, booking a hotel in New York City’s Garment District wasn’t of particular appeal to the seasoned traveler, the design aficionado, the epicurean or pretty much anyone engaged in culture and aesthetics. But the Archer Hotel — a 22-floor boutique property with 180 guest rooms –is changing all that by ushering in a much-needed shot of fresh energy to the neighborhood.
